Mind over Matter… Jon takes on the Swiss Epic Challenge

August 2019

This August Jon will be competing in the Swiss Epic Mountain Bike Event raising funds for the Mind Charity.

This is a demanding five-day stage race across the Alps; climbing 12,000 meters and covering 350 kilometres. Starting in Davos, the route takes the riders to St Moritz, onto Lenzerheide and back to Davos. With a fresh new route each year, it’s a unique test of endurance, resolve and skill with the staggering beauty of the snow-capped, jagged skyline set as the perfect antidote to the physical and mental demands of off-road racing. The event is open to two-person teams, top professionals and ambitious amateurs alike.

Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. Lowe have a dedicated welfare team in place to provide confidential support and advice to any employee who needs it… Caring for our staffs’ well-being is an important part of our day to day management.

As awareness increases about mental health, fundraising for Mind is significant to enable the support and advice to be available for everyone. Mind believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone.

Jon and his team partner Guy Cobbe have been training since January this year and, having put in an average of 18 hours a week, 6 days a week – they are now ready to take on this incredible challenge. If you are able to show your support please follow the link below to the Just Giving Page.
