Raising an incredible £1750 for the Mind Charity, and taking on 5 days of the most challenging Mountain Bike Stage Race across the Alps; Jon and Guy completed the Swiss Epic 2019 in outstanding form. Finishing 16th in their GM Category, from 46, and an overall place of 161 from 360 International Teams, the 8 months of hard work certainly paid off.
All of the staff at Lowe Electrical and our Clients and Suppliers have been part of this successful fundraising event and have enjoyed following Jon and Guy’s progress over the last few months; from local event support, holding raffles and sharing media updates.
So, what’s next for Team Lowe?! Indeed, the many 2020 challenges await, but for now let the 2019 achievements sink in … Well done Jon and Guy on your incredible fund-raising adventure.
Today the Swiss Epic 2019 begins.
300 teams, of two riders each, registered in Davos on Monday. The 5 day, 350 kilometre UCI S1 category stage race takes in a massive 12 000 meters of climbing in the Alps. A mix of purpose-built mountain bike trails and rugged mountain dual tracks make up the majority of the course which provides new challenges around every corner and breathtaking views at every turn.
Stage One will challenge Jon and Guy with 2800m of climbing across 86km, starting in Davos and finishing in St Mortiz, it takes in highlights of the area like the Zügen Gorge and the world-renowned Landwasser Viaduct.
With only a few days to go, Jon and Guy are now finalising their preparations for the Swiss Epic Mountain Bike Stage Race.
In these days of large shops and internet sales, you cannot beat the personal service provided by your local bike shop… and we would like to thank Glen and the team at Pedal Power Loughborough for their great advice and professional bike preparation for Jon and Guy’s event next week.
